ČD Promo Prague – Brno

New ČD Promo offers between Prague and Moravia will be valid from February...

Starting on 1 February, ČD will offer passengers new special ČD Promo offers which will replace the current special discounts between Prague and Moravian cities. The offer of discounted tickets has been expanded with special discounts for pensioners in connection with a new ČD tariff offer for this group of passengers following the termination of the 50% discount by the state. For ČD Promo tickets on the Prague – Brno route, there is a slight increase in the special price, but even so passengers will pay CZK 120 less than the normal price for a regular ticket. On the Prague – Ostrava line, the special prices will be adjusted minimally only on certain routes. For example, the change will not affect either the Prague – Olomouc or the Prague – Ostrava route.

The discounted ticket prices have significantly increased the percentage of passengers travelling by train, especially on the Prague – Brno route where ČD competes with the D1 motorway. Although passengers will pay CZK 10 more (or with a customer fare CZK 5 more) for a regular ticket, they will still save CZK 120 off the normal price.

For some time now, ČD has been devoting increased attention to attracting new customers between Prague and Brno. The carrier has regularly announced special offers on this route for several years – the last ČD Promo offer in a similar extent was made public last spring. It is precisely on the higher-quality connections between Brno and Prague that ČD deploys its highest-quality carriages with air-conditioning, a self-contained WC system and electrical outlets. Discounted tickets between Prague and Brno in either direction can be purchased through the eShop on www.cd.cz/eshop or at ČD ticket offices in Prague and Brno (including Chrlice station). The offer is valid only for journeys between Brno and Prague.

There will also be a lesser adjustment in the ČD Promo Ostrava Region and Zlín offers, where new prices have been set for transporting pensioners, who from 1 January 2012 are no longer eligible for a 50% fare discount. There was also an adjustment of prices on selected routes. On the other hand, for the Prague – Ostrava, Prague – Zlín and Prague – Olomouc routes we will be providing the same discount as has been offered hitherto.

Passengers will also find an interesting offering of inexpensive travel documents on the ČD eShop, where the carrier offers electronic SporoTiket Česko tickets for even lower prices. Those who purchase tickets in advance and who are ČD In-karta cardholders receive the best ticket prices of all. The contingent of SporoTiket tickets is limited.
