Transporting Bicycles in International Transport

Transporting Bicycles around Europe

Přeprava kol v mezinárodní přepravěBicycles can be transported as oversized luggage to the following countries: Germany, Austria, Hungary, the Netherlands, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. You will pay EUR 5 to transport a bicycle from the boarding station in the Czech Republic to the destination station abroad. A transport document for transporting the bicycle back can be purchased in advance in the Czech Republic. When purchasing this document abroad, the price is determined by the relevant railway’s tariffs. The transport of bicycles is contingent on the existence of this service on the train as published in the timetable and on the availability of sufficient capacity. When transporting bicycles in long-distance international transport, it is generally necessary to reserve a space for the bicycle. Trains requiring reservations for bicycles can be identified in the timetable (bicycle symbol in a box or suitcase symbol in a box). Transport documents can be purchased at all ticket counters authorised to provide services for international transport.

Note: Passengers without a bicycle reservation purchased in advance on trains requiring bicycle reservations for the luggage storage during transport service or as oversized luggage will not be transported.
