Croatia is one of the most frequented vacation destinations for Czech tourists wishing to spend their vacation at the seaside. Did you know that you can get to Croatia from the Czech Republic on a train?

Most tourists head for the Adriatic coast. By train you can get to Zadar, a historic port city in northern Dalmatia, as well as to Split, Croatia’s second-largest city located in central Dalmatia.

In the interior, the Plitvice Lakes (Plitvická jezera) are a popular destination and the capital Zagreb is worth a visit as well.

In the 2011/2012 timetable there are no direct train connections available to Croatia. However, it is possible to travel comfortably aboard EuroCity trains from Prague or Brno with a transfer in Vienna. An ideal connection is the combination of trains EC 77 and EC 159 departing Prague at 10:42 and arriving in Zagreb at 22:38.
