Types of Trains

For comfortable travel we operate several categories of trains:

  • Local trains (Os) – trains for travelling short distances usually stopping at all stations and stops, without a supplement, generally only 2nd class seating, on selected trains also 1st class seating
  • Limited-stop trains (Sp) – trains for travelling medium distances usually stopping only at more important stations and stops, without a supplement, generally only 2nd class seating, on selected trains also 1st class seating
  • Fast trains (R) – trains for travelling long distances mainly within the Czech Republic, stopping only at more important stations, without a supplement, generally 1st and 2nd class seating, on selected fast trains refreshments are provided in the form of in-seat service or in a restaurant carriage (refreshments are not included in the ticket price), seat reservations available
  • Express trains (Ex) – trains for travelling long distances within the Czech Republic and internationally, stopping only at the most important stations, without a supplement, 1st and 2nd class seating, on selected express trains there is a restaurant carriage or refreshments are provided in the form of in-seat service (refreshments are not included in the ticket price), seat reservations available
  • InterCity (IC) – trains for comfortably travelling long distances within the Czech Republic and internationally, stopping only at the most important stations, without a supplement, 1st and 2nd class seating, trains include a restaurant carriage, seat reservations available
  • EuroCity (EC) – trains for comfortably travelling long distances mainly internationally, stopping only at the most important stations, without a supplement, 1st and 2nd class seating, trains include a restaurant carriage, seat reservations available
  • EuroNight (EN) – trains for comfortably travelling long distances overnight mainly internationally, stopping only at the most important stations, without a supplement (for sleeper and couchette carriages it is necessary to purchase a sleeper or couchette supplement), 1st and 2nd class seating, sleeper and couchette carriages, refreshments can be purchased from the sleeper and couchette carriage attendants, seat reservations available
  • SuperCity (SC) – trains for comfortably travelling long distances in the Czech Republic and internationally, stopping only at the most important stations with above-standard services, without a supplement, generally modern Pendolino trains with 1st and 2nd class carriages and a bistro carriage, refreshments are also available in the form of in-seat service (selected refreshments are provided to 1st class passengers free of charge), seat reservations required (an SC seat reservation is necessary), see www.scpendolino.cz for more information
