By Historic Railcar to Lednice
Set out on a journey on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays aboard a historic 1950s railcar to Lednice and its beautiful world of parks, gardens, lakes and forests of the Lednice-Valtice Area.
Again in 2011, trains with a historic 1950s railcar will operate regularly on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays between Brno, Břeclav and Lednice. Weekend trains to Lednice will operate from 16 April until 25 September. The line from Břeclav to Lednice runs through the romantic landscape of the Garden of Europe. In Lednice there is a neo-gothic chateau with a tropical greenhouse as well as a garden with a minaret and falconry training. Between Lednice and Valtice there is a beautiful world of parks, gardens, lakes and forests, accentuated by a variety of small structures ranging from manors to chapels to colonnades to an artificial ruin. The Lednice-Valtice Area is the most extensive landscape system in Europe, and in 1996 it was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites.
