What kind of tickets should I purchase?

For a journey from Děčín to Dolní Poustevna, you can purchase an inland ticket even though you will travel across German territory. But you can also use the line for a trip to Germany with the discounted MPS Sebnitz ticket.

The direct train connection on the listed lines starts in the Czech Republic in Děčín, continues in Germany via Bad Schandau – Sebnitz, and returns to the Czech Rumburk via Dolní Poustevna.

Domestic journey

In the case of domestic transport of passengers from stations in the Czech Republic to stations in the Czech Republic with transit through Germany (the passenger does not board or alight in Germany), the TR 10 tariff (Czech Railways Tariff for Domestic Transport of Passengers and Luggage) and SPPO (Contractual Transport Conditions of Czech Railways for Public Passenger Railway Transport) apply in full scope.

Domestic journey in Germany

For domestic journeys in Germany, the tariff and transport conditions of the transport association Verkehrsverbund Oberelbe (hereinafter VVO) apply, and if the passenger is checked in according to the DB tariff, then the DB tariff and transport conditions apply. Based on an agreement between ČD and DB, ČD conductors perform duties on behalf of DB in German domestic transport and sell selected VVO travel documents.

Journey to Germany with MPS Sebnitz ticket

If the passenger's boarding station lies in the Czech Republic and the destination station lies in Germany (or vice versa), the special MPS Sebnitz tariff applies. Single trip travel documents are issued in the e-shop and the My Train (Můj vlak) application.

All types of travel documents are issued at ticket counters and on line 083 by conductors on the train. When boarding the train at stations located in Germany, no handling surcharge is applied (regardless of a potentially open ticket counter or ticket machine installed at the station).

Types of MPS Sebnitz tickets:

adults: single and time tickets,
children from 6 – 18 years: single and time tickets,
pupils and students 18 - 26 years: single and time tickets,
passengers 65+: single and time tickets,
bicycles: single tickets,
dogs: single tickets.

We offer time tickets for 7, 30, or 90 days.

Passengers who purchase tickets according to the MPS Sebnitz tariff in Germany at ticket machines or ticket counters are required to validate their tickets in the validator on the platform before boarding the train (ticket sales in Germany from the time of announcement).

A ticket not validated in the validator is invalid; the passenger will be checked in with a ticket according to MPS Sebnitz (without a handling surcharge). Children under 6 years are transported free of charge, children aged 6 – 15 do not prove entitlement to the child fare, a verbal declaration of age suffices, children aged 15-18 prove it with a personal document. Pupils and students prove entitlement with a relevant card; the discount is provided year-round (even during holidays). Passengers 65+ prove entitlement with a personal document.

Transport of a bicycle is permitted based on a ticket for a bicycle. A dog that is not transported in a completely closed container is transported based on a single ticket for a dog.

At ČD ticket counters or when selling tickets on the train, payment can be made in CZK or EUR. When purchasing tickets in Germany at ticket machines or ticket counters, payment is possible only in EUR.
