IN 25 discount application on an In Karta card

IN 25 is an electronic discount application recorded onto a non-transferable chip In Karta card issued for a specific person. An In Karta card is issued for a period of 6 years and various discount applications (also with shorter terms of validity) can be repeatedly purchased for it for travel aboard ČD trains.

An In Karta card with the IN 25 application is intended for all passengers, including children, students and ZTP and ZTP/P cardholders who commute regularly by train to school or work. It is also worthwhile for frequent travel to various destinations. With the IN 25 application on an In Karta card, you will receive a 25% discount on one-way, return and commuter tickets (weekly, monthly and quarterly variants), a discount on tickets to foreign destinations (thanks to the RailPlus supplementary application), and discounted First Minute Czech Republic (Včasná jízdenka Česko) and Special-offer tickets.

The IN 25 application on an In Karta card can be purchased for 3 months, 1 year or 3 years. It is also sold for children under 15 years of age and for juniors aged 15-26 years. The three-month variant is sold under the name IN 25 START and can be procured only once for a new In Karta card. The IN 25 START application cannot be purchased subsequently for an already-issued In Karta card.

When purchasing a new In Karta card with the IN 25 application, you will also receive the RailPlus discount, which can be used to purchase discounted international tickets.

Is it also possible to purchase an In Karta card online?
Yes, through the ČD eShop.

I purchased a new In Karta card with the IN 50 application for one year. After this year is over, I’m interested in the IN 25 application for 3 years. How should I proceed?
You can purchase a new IN 25 application for your existing In Karta card with no problem. If the term of validity of the requested new application extends beyond the term of validity of the existing In Karta card, the new application on it (in this case IN 25) will only be valid until the end of the physical In Karta card’s term of validity. The remainder of the newly purchased application’s term of validity will be recorded onto a newly issued duplicate In Karta card. It is necessary to request a duplicate In Karta card separately and prior to the end of your original In Karta card’s term of validity. If the passenger does not request a duplicate In Karta card or requests one later, he or she shall not have a claim to a refund of the portion of the price for the unused days.

I now have a valid IN 25 application on my In Karta card. Can I change it to the IN 50 application?
No, the IN 25 application cannot be changed to an IN 50 application at the passenger’s request. But it can be purchased for an existing card at any time (multiple different applications can be on an In Karta card at the same time).

I don’t use the current IN 25 application on my In Karta card anymore. Can I return it and get some of my money back?
No, we do not return money for the non-use of a discount application on an In Karta card for reasons on its user’s side. You can, however, transfer your In Karta card with all currently valid applications to a different person. You can request a transfer at any ČD ticket counter.

Issuing a chip In Karta card takes several weeks. Can I already use a purchased IN 25 application before the completed In Karta card is ready?
Yes. After purchasing a new In Karta card with a discount application, you will receive a paper provisional In Karta card with which you can already purchase tickets and use the purchased IN 25 discount. The provisional In Karta card is valid until you retrieve the completed new chip In Karta card.

If I have an IN 25 1/2 application for a child, do I have to request a change to the IN 25 1/1 application when I turn 15?
No. If a passenger with the IN 25 1/2 application reaches the age of 15, the application will be automatically changed free of charge from the day of the passenger’s 15th birthday to the IN 25 1/1 application for passengers from 15 to 26 years of age.

If I no longer have a valid ZTP card, do I have to change my IN 25 1/4 application for ZTP cardholders?
If a passenger with the IN 25 1/4 application loses his or her eligibility for the granted benefits, the application will be changed upon request free of charge at a ČD ticket issue point to the IN 25 application for which he or she demonstrates eligibility.

What should I do if I lose my In Karta card?
A lost or stolen completed In Karta card can be blocked free of charge electronically on moje.inkarta.cz or by telephone at the Contact Centre (tel. +420 840 112 113) after entering the password to block the card, or in person at any ČD ticket counter. When blocking and unblocking an In Karta card at the ticket counter, the passenger must present a piece of personal identification. In the event of the loss, theft or damage of an In Karta card and a subsequent request that a duplicate In Karta card be issued, the passenger will receive a provisional duplicate In Karta card for the IN 25 application. For the issue of a duplicate In Karta card, the passenger will pay a fee per the TR 10 Tariff.

What does “RailPlus” mean?
RailPlus is an international railway discount. Thanks to the red RailPlus logo on the In Karta card, you can even enjoy discounts when travelling by train around Europe. You will receive the RailPlus discount when procuring a new In Karta card.

How long does it take to issue an In Karta card?
From the day the request is submitted, it takes roughly 4 weeks to produce the chip card. You can use the discounted fare for travel immediately, however, because you will receive a provisional In Karta card on a regular ticket form which is valid until you have your completed chip In Karta card.

Can I purchase discounted reservations and international tickets using a provisional In Karta card?
Discounts on international tickets are linked to the red RailPlus logo, which is only on the completed chip version of the In Karta card. If you insist on your RailPlus discount, however, we will issue you a temporary paper In Karta/RailPlus card when you submit your request for an In Karta card. It will be necessary, however, for you to submit an extra photograph. The prices of reservations for ČD trains are in no way linked to whether you have an In Karta card.

Can I purchase the IN 25 application at a discounted price if I’m 26 years old?
No. You can only obtain the IN 25 application at a discounted price from 15 to 26 years of age, i.e. until the day preceding the day of your 26th birthday.

Can I purchase First Minute Czech Republic tickets at a discounted price using a provisional In Karta card?
Yes.

I’ve heard about the “Z-karta card” and the “In-Customer” application. Is there something like that?
The “Karta Z” or “Z-karta card” and the “In-Customer” application were predecessors of the IN 25 offer. The “Z-karta card” was issued as a paper discount card, and “In-Customer” was an application on a chip In Karta card.
