What a Ticket with an Obligatory Train offers

The most inexpensive ticket possible for the given route with the option to purchase up to 2 months in advance.

Use of the ticket is linked a specific obligatory train.
After completing the journey on the obligatory train, it is possible to transfer to any other train.
In the event of a missed connection or a delay of the obligatory train of 30 minutes or more, a different connection can be used.
Can be purchased for 2nd class only.

It is additionally necessary to procure a reservation if travelling on required-reservation trains.

This ticket cannot be used for intra-regional journeys by Regional trains (Os) and Regional fast trains (Sp) in the territory of the South Moravian Region and the Zlín Region.

Terms and conditions of Tickets with an Obligatory Train (Vázaná jízdenka)

Tickets with an Obligatory Train (Vázaná jízdenka) can be purchased for 2nd class only on selected lines as tickets linked for part or all of the route to a specific train which is specified on the ticket as the “Obligatory train” (“Povinny vlak”).
Tickets with an Obligatory Train are sold as one-way tickets only.
Discounts on Tickets with an Obligatory Train are granted to In Karta cardholders with the IN 25 or IN 50 customer application, as well as to all passengers who are eligible for a special fare.
Tickets with an Obligatory Train can be purchased in the ČD e-shop (including the ČD mobile website and the Můj vlak (“My Train”) mobile application).
A Ticket with an Obligatory Train must be used on the train specified thereupon as obligatory. When using such a ticket on a different train during its term of validity for reasons on the passenger’s side, the passenger will pay the difference up to the price of a ticket not linked to a specific train. The fare upgrade for the use of a different train can be purchased in advance at the ticket counter or from the conductor on the train (if boarding the train at a station with an open ticket office, it is also necessary to pay a handling surcharge when purchasing from the conductor).

Tickets with an Obligatory Train can be purchased only until the set limit on the number of tickets (the contingent) has been exhausted. The contingent’s size is variable and is not made public.
A Ticket with an Obligatory Train for 2nd carriage class can be used in 1st carriage class in combination with a time upgrade to 1st carriage class on an In Karta card, except for its discounted variants with a special fare, or the passenger can pay the difference between the fare for 1st carriage class for which he or she demonstrates eligibility and the price of the presented Ticket with an Obligatory Train for the entire route specified thereupon. If 1st carriage class is used for part of the route, no upgrade is possible; for such a segment the passenger will pay the 1st carriage class fare for which he or she demonstrates eligibility.
