Terms and conditions of First Minute Europe (Včasná jízdenka Evropa) tickets to Austria

Tickets can be purchased from any NRT ČD point (NRT = generally stations for fast trains to which international sales can be realised) to any NRT ÖBB point; a bilateral zone system is applied.

Tickets can be purchased no earlier than 90 days prior to the departure date. Sales are terminated 1 day prior to the departure date for tickets in 1st carriage class and  for tickets in 2nd carriage class to the departure time, or when the allocated contingent of tickets has been sold out.

We offer tickets for 1st or 2nd carriage class.

What you need to know

• tickets are issued with an obligatory cross-border train between the Czech Republic and the neighbouring country
• the ticket’s term of validity is 2 days, and the journey must be commenced on the first day of validity
• the price of a (seat) reservation is not included in the fare for trains travelling during the day, but we recommend that you purchase a reservation
• overnight trains between the Czech Republic and Austria have required reservations during the international journey and the price of a reservation is added to the ticket automatically
• for First Minute Europe (VJE) tickets, we grant discounts on the territory of the Czech Republic for children under 15 years of age, students under 26 years of age (with student ID or ISIC) and for passengers 65 years of age and older. 
• the ticket can be returned for reasons on the passenger’s side no later than by 24:00 (midnight) on the day preceding the first day of the ticket’s term of validity with a service charge of EUR 3 per person
• with a First Minute Europe (Včasná jízdenka Evropa) ticket to Austria, you can purchase tickets for accompanying children (son, daughter, granddaughter, grandson) under 15 years of age at a discounted fare

• in the e-shop (also on the ČD mobile website and in the Můj vlak (“My Train”) mobile application)
• at the ticket counter for a fee of CZK 50
• by telephone on the ČD Contact Centre telephone line on (+420) 221 111 122 (in the form of a TeleTiket for a fee of CZK 50 as part of a single telephone order)

Current prices and availability of the First Minute Europe (Včasná jízdenka Evropa) offer for specific routes are available at the moment of purchase (price enquiry) in the e-shop, at a ČD ticket counter equipped to issue international travel documents, or at the ČD Contact Centre on tel. +420 221 111 122.

When purchasing at a ticket counter, a service fee in the amount of CZK 50 is charged for each First Minute (Včasnou jízdenka) ticket.

Prices of international tickets are fixed in EUR and converted into Czech crowns according to the valid Uniform Railway Exchange rate.
