Waiting for connecting trains

Passenger trains have a system of wait times which, in the event of a delay, ensures that you can transfer to connecting trains. The amount of wait time determines the greatest possible delay which a train can have incurred when departing from the connecting station, including transfer time, which is the time needed to transfer between platforms. The basic wait time (the amount of time by which the connecting train is delayed at departure) is set at 5 minutes for all ČD trains. Trains which have a wait time of less than 5 minutes are designated with the “the train does not wait for any connections” symbol (a point in a wheel). In exceptional cases, it is possible to increase the wait time of a connecting train. This possibility will be verified by the train crew, so for more information always contact the conductor.

Transfer times

The attached table contains basic times necessary for a problem-free transfer between trains at the station in question. The Search Connections function works automatically with these transfer times as well. When transferring between certain trains, the actual time needed for the transfer may be shorter than the time given in the table (e.g. when transferring on the same platform).
