By Train Direct to Milan and Genoa

To travel to Italy, you can use direct long-distance trains operated by Russian Railways (RZD) on the Moscow – Nice route, which run once per week and stop on Czech territory in Bohumín and Břeclav. In Italy, they stop e.g. in Milan, Genoa and San Remo. The train is composed of comfortable sleeper carriages only; it is possible to board only with a pre-purchased ticket with a global price.

Italy, lying mainly on the Apennine Peninsula and neighbouring with France, Austria and Slovenia on the mainland, is one of the most populous countries in Europe. It is considered one of the cradles of European culture and is sought after by tourists mainly for its monuments, into which the development of modern civilisation has been imprinted.

Rome

It is of course impossible to skip Rome, also called the Eternal City. You can feel the breath of history in every step you take – from the walls of the almost two-thousand-year-old Colosseum, from the ruins of the centre of the Roman Empire called Forum Romanum, from the countless historic churches and from the refreshing air around the city’s famed fountains.

Venice

The city which blurs the difference between land and sea is another of Italy’s most common tourist destinations. A unique world of gondolas, canals and houses on wooden stilts enchants every visitor. You can take a ride on a canal either by gondola or using some kind of water bus, for example to St Mark’s Square with the eponymous basilica, or to the railway station.

Naples

The centre of Campania, lying beneath the Vesuvius volcano, is another of Italy’s gems. It is worth visiting, for example, the medieval castle Castel Nuovo, the Spanish quarter and any of the many churches here. You will be able to verify whether the old proverb “see Naples and die” still applies.
