The Interrail offer includes two products. The "Global" offer, **Interrail Global Pass**, which allows travel in all participating countries, and the "one country" offer, or **Interrail One Country Pass**.

Interrail Global Pass

You can purchase this ticket:

with 15-day, 22-day, one-month, two-month or three-month validity, allowing unlimited travel on the routes of participating carriers in all countries during its validity period
for 4, 5, 7, 10 or 15 days, which allows you to travel for 5, 7, 10 or 15 individual days of your choice within the validity period (4-day, 5-day, 7-day passes are valid for one month; 10-day and 15-day passes are valid for 2 months), anytime between midnight of one day and midnight of the following day

For all direct night train journeys, including "day trains" that finish after midnight on the following day (regardless of the train's arrival time), the departure date is filled in. For boat trips (crossing midnight), either the departure date or the arrival date is filled in (Valid from January 1, 2019).

We offer the Interrail Global Pass for 4 age categories:

for adults: from 28 years old
for seniors: from 60 years old
for youth: from 12 to 28 years old
for accompanying children: from 4 to 12 years old

Both 1st and 2nd class are available.

Children's travel

Up to 2 children (from 4 to 12 years old) can travel free of charge as accompanying children when combined with an adult's IR Global Pass.

Where is the Interrail Global Pass valid?

A complete list of carriers is published at www.interrail.eu. In addition to a few selected private carriers, it is also valid with national carriers in the following countries:

Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey. It is also valid on the sea route between Italy and Greece, respectively between the Greek islands, operated by Attica Group.

The Interrail Global Pass is not valid in your country of permanent residence. However, you are entitled to 2 journeys in your country of permanent residence: one for departure from your country of residence (to the state border/airport) and one for return to your country of residence (from the state border/airport).

Interrail One Country Pass

The Interrail One Country Pass can be purchased for 3, 4, 5, 6 or 8 days. All IR One Country Passes are flexible. This means that within the ticket's validity (1 month), you can make any number of journeys on the lines of your chosen railway on the days you choose (always from 0:00 to 24:00 of the selected day). For the Interrail One Country Greek Islands Pass, there is an option for 5 (domestic only between Greek islands) or 6 journeys (2 international journeys between Italy and Greece and 4 domestic between Greek islands).

Both 1st and 2nd class are available.

The "one country" offer can be purchased for all countries where the Interrail Global Pass is valid, except for Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. For Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, a common Interrail Benelux Pass is offered (cannot be purchased for each country separately); for travel in Ireland and Northern Ireland, only the Interrail Ireland Pass is available. The Interrail Great Britain Pass is valid in England, Scotland and Wales, but not in Northern Ireland. The Interrail Switzerland Pass is valid on "main" SBB/CFF lines as well as many other private lines, a current list of which can be found at www.interrail.eu. The Interrail Norway Pass cannot be purchased for 1st class. The German Twin Pass offer is for 2 people traveling together regardless of age category.

What's good to know

An Interrail ticket does not guarantee you a seat. In many trains, reservations are recommended or even mandatory (such connections have the letter R in a box in the timetable).
Traveling on higher quality trains often requires a special surcharge. Your Interrail ticket entitles you to a discount, which varies depending on the type of train and the type of extra services provided on the train. The surcharge includes mandatory seat reservation and sometimes also catering service on the train or other benefits.
Interrail tickets are issued in your name, are non-transferable, and are only valid with an official identity document (ID card or passport). The passenger must present this document when purchasing the Interrail ticket at the ticket counter and is also obliged to present this document at any time during inspection on the train. Interrail PROMOTIONAL PASS tickets (with a discount during announced periods) cannot be returned or exchanged due to reasons on the passenger's side, except in cases where the possibility of return is announced for a specific promotional offer.
When purchasing an Interrail ticket, the ticket will be placed in an envelope with the terms of use.
No compensation is provided for a lost or stolen Interrail network ticket. Only a completely unused Interrail ticket can be returned, before the first day of validity. This ticket must be in its original envelope. The fare will be refunded after deducting the appropriate cancellation fee.

Interrail tickets in paper form can only be purchased at selected stations (see attached list) or you can self-check-in with an Interrail ticket in mobile form by purchasing on www.interrail.eu with subsequent activation in the Rail Planner application (iOS and Android support).

The European Youth Portal publishes individual waves/time periods during which a free 7-day Interrail Pass can be requested. At the same time, the birth period into which the applicant must fall, or other conditions, are published.

What should I do if I think that my Interrail Global Pass Travel Diary will not have enough cells?

It is possible to request a new envelope at any international ticket counter upon presentation of the original filled-in envelope.

Can I use an Interrail Global Pass to travel in the Czech Republic?

The Interrail Global Pass is not valid in your country of permanent residence. You are eligible, however, for 2 journeys in your country of permanent residence – for travelling out of your country of residence (to the state border/airport) and for returning to your country of residence (from the state border/airport).

It is also possible to travel and return to the Czech Republic repeatedly, but after using 1 free trip for departure and then for arrival, in the case of repeated trips within the Czech Republic, it is necessary to pay for the relevant tickets.

How does an Interrail Mobile Pass work?

In order to travel with a Mobile Pass, you need a smartphone, the Rail Planner app and an internet connection (at least once every 3 days). When purchasing using the purchase button, simply select the “Mobile Pass” option. You’ll receive an e-mail confirmation with the number of your Pass so you can load it into the app.

Activating mobile Interrail
Following the instructions in the confirmation e-mail, load the ticket into the app and activate it. You can execute both steps at the same time or first add the ticket to the application and then activate it later – it’s up to you.

Travelling with an Interrail mobile ticket
You’ll find your routes and connections in the Rail Planner app. By clicking on a connection, you’ll save it to the “My Trip” tab, where you’ll first see all your planned trips. When you’re ready to start your journey, tap the connection and add it to your Pass. The connection will then appear in the "My Pass" section as a ticket, which you can present during an inspection on the train.

You can download the Rail Planner app free of charge from Google Play (Android) or from the Apple App Store (iPhone).

How far in advance can I purchase an Interrail ticket?

The standard period of advance sales in ČD ticket offices is 3 months. If you would like to purchase an Interrail ticket up to 11 months in advance, this is possible through the purchase buttons (above) which will redirect you to the purchasing process of the company Eurail B.V. The period of advance sales may differ if there is a promotional special.

Do I need to buy anything else to use an Interrail ticket?

Generally no, but certain high-speed or overnight trains may require reservations, which must be purchased in advance. More detailed information is available on www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/reservations.

Is it possible to return or exchange an Interrail ticket?

An Interrail ticket can only be returned prior to its first day of validity, and is subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Returns may be excluded if purchased as part of certain promotional specials. Exchanges are possible only for tickets purchased through the Eurail B.V. website (www.interrail.eu), or through the purchase button on the ČD website; the exchange is free of charge if made prior to the first day of the ticket’s validity. Returns may be excluded if purchased through promotional specials.

Are there any passenger benefits with an Interrail ticket?
