The IN 100 network ticket is valid for 2nd class travel on all trains operated by ČD. Like other network tickets, however, it does not include reservation fees. For this reason, it is necessary to purchase seat reservations as well as sleeper or couchette tickets separately. If you are interested in travelling in 1st class, it is possible to purchase a one-off or time upgrade.

No. We do not return money for the non-use of a discount application on an In Karta card for reasons on the user’s side. You can, however, transfer your In Karta card with all currently valid applications to another person by requesting that a duplicate In Karta card be issued in the name of the other person, or you can transfer the IN 100 application to another valid In Karta card. You can request a transfer at any ČD ticket counter.

No. An IN 25 application cannot be changed to an IN 100 application at the passenger’s request. Of course it is possible to purchase the IN 100 application concurrently with the IN 25 application and to have both applications on the same In Karta card, or to transfer the IN 25 application to another person.

You can purchase a new IN 25 application for your existing In Karta card with no problem. If the term of validity of the requested new application extends beyond the term of validity of the existing In Karta card, the new application on it (in this case IN 25) will only be valid until the end of the physical In Karta card’s term of validity. The remainder of the newly purchased application’s term of validity will be recorded onto a newly issued duplicate In Karta card. It is necessary to request a duplicate In Karta card separately and prior to the end of your original In Karta card’s term of validity. If the passenger does not request a duplicate In Karta card or requests one later, he or she shall not have a claim to a proportional refund for the unused days.

Yes. After purchasing a new In Karta card with a discount application, you will receive a paper provisional In Karta card with which you can already use the purchased discount (e.g. IN 25). The provisional In Karta card is valid until you retrieve the completed new chip In Karta card.

We no longer use the term “continuing In Karta card”. It is now necessary to request a duplicate In Karta card prior to the end of your original In Karta card’s term of validity. A duplicate In Karta card can be requested no later than 6 months following the expiration of the previous In Karta card, where the first day of the term of validity of the In Karta card (carrier) is the day on which the request is submitted. For the issue of a duplicate In Karta card, a fee is paid in the amount of CZK 100. If applications are transferred from the original In Karta card to the duplicate, their terms of validity do not change. When requesting a duplicate, the applicant does not submit a new request or photograph, unless there has been a significant change in appearance or identity, or if required information has changed. If the passenger does not request a duplicate In Karta card or requests one later, he or she shall not have a claim to a refund of the portion of the price of the discount application for the unused days.

It is necessary to distinguish between the term of validity of an In Karta card and the term of validity of an application. The In Karta data carrier is valid for 6 years (In Karta cards issued prior to 30 June 2012 are physically valid for 3 years); an application on it may be valid for a shorter period of time, depending on your choice of customer application. After termination of an application’s term of validity, it is possible to have another application recorded onto the In Karta card.

No. An In Karta card is a non-transferable document and entitles only its holder to use discounts. An exception is when a passenger 10 years of age or older demonstrates eligibility for the IN 25, IN 50, IN 100 or IN Senior application. Here, a second child under 6 years of age using a separate seat and each additional accompanying child under 6 years of age will be ticketed as a holder of the IN 25 application for a child.

Yes. The provisional In Karta card entitles you to use the relevant type of fare during its term of validity. With a standard provisional In Karta card it is not possible to use the RAILPLUS international discount. If you would like to use discounts linked to RAILPLUS prior to retrieving your chip In Karta card, please request this explicitly when submitting your request to the cashier. After submitting a second photograph, you will be provided with a temporary paper In Karta card with the RAILPLUS logo.

A lost or stolen completed In Karta card can be blocked free of charge electronically online, by telephone at the Contact Centre (tel. 221 111 122) after entering the password to block the card, or in person in any ČD ticket office. When blocking and unblocking an In Karta card in the ticket office, you must present a piece of personal identification. In the event of the loss, theft or damage of an In Karta card and a subsequent request that a duplicate In Karta card be issued, you will receive a provisional In Karta card – a duplicate as a temporary substitute for the application that you had on the lost In Karta card. For the issue of a duplicate In Karta card, you will pay a fee in the amount of CZK 100.

In Karta card with the selected discount application, you can buy directly through the internet in the ČD e-shop or in the mobile application Můj vlak. In case of a request for the production of a plastic In Karta, you choose the station for its collection.

The permanent In Karta card will be ready for retrieval at the station of issue for a period of three months. Thereafter, it will be blocked as unretrieved and sent to be shredded. If in serious cases (e.g. hospitalisation) you will be unable to retrieve the In Karta card even by this date, please inform us by e-mail on info@inkarta.cz.

On the date set for issue of the permanent In Karta card, go to the station which you selected on the request form. The chip In Karta card will be issued upon presentation of identification. It is not possible to issue a duplicate provisional In Karta card.

The advantage of a chip In Karta card is that several different applications can be recorded on it during its term of validity without the need to produce a new card every time there is a change. The fact that all customer In Karta cards have the same visual appearance allows for this flexibility.

Processing the request, production and delivery of a chip In Karta card to the selected station takes c. 28 days. For the period of production (provided that you do not request a card in advance sales), you will receive a provisional In Karta card which will allow you to take advantage of the benefits of the relevant application (IN 25, IN 50, IN 100, IN Důchodce (“IN Pensioner”), IN Senior or commuter tickets), but it will not allow you to take advantage of benefits linked to RAILPLUS. If you intend to take advantage of the benefits of RAILPLUS already with your provisional In Karta card (travel abroad), it is possible to request that the provisional In Karta card be issued with the RAILPLUS logo, although in this case it is necessary to submit a second photograph. You can use the provisional In Karta card immediately.
